British Enduro Championship
Round 2, Near Elgin, Scotland
Full Report posted soon
David Knight riding his D3-Racing prepared KTM 525 EXC once again wins, this time at round 2 of the BEC, it's several years since Scotland hosted a championship round but when they do its usually one of the best circuits of the season, this event did not dissapoint from a riders point of view, superb course and brilliant special tests which would put some WEC rounds to shame. Unfortunatly the same could not be said for the start area/paddock which was well below the standard expected of a BEC event, however this was quickly forgotten about once racing commenced and i'm sure the club will find a more suitable start area for next season because i'm sure the majority of rider will want to go back to Elgin in 2007, it's easy to criticise but the club should also be praised for many other aspects of the event, brilliant tests, a figure of eight circuit so no driving about for service crews, all the fuelling was completed at the start area ( take note other BEC event organisers ) . Close to the coast the going was mainly sandy with two special tests, the main test adjacent to the start for all the service crews and spectators to easily view, a long test incorporating Elgin MX track and the surrounding woodland made for the best test i can remember ever at a BEC event. As usual David totally dominated and easily won every special test, ranging from 9 seconds to nearly 30 seconds over his nearest competitor each run through the tests. David had no issues over the two days with the exception of catching Euan McConnel on the final stage when the two collided and Knighter went down for a few seconds.
Results overall 2 days.
